and worker's compensation. BIO: James M. Callan, Jr., was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 20, 1938. He received a BA Degree from Stetson University in 1960; served in the military as Captain, U.S. Air Force, 1962 to 1969; and received a Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University in 1970. Mr. Callan was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1970 and is licensed to practice in both State and Federal Courts in Florida. Mr. Callan served as Assistant Public Defender for Pinellas County from 1975 to 1977. Since 1977, he has maintained his practice of law as a sole practitioner, primarily within the areas of worker’s compensation and personal injury. Mr. Callan also handles matters relating to insurance benefits, medical negligence and Social Security disability cases. In 1988, Mr. Callan was Board Certified as a worker’s compensation attorney by The Florida Bar and, in 1992, was certified as a state-wide Mediator in Florida. Mr. Callan’s memberships include The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, Hernando County Bar Association, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives.
